Why Support Family Continuity?

Every family, regardless of fortunate or challenging circumstances, will need help sometime. We know this by looking at our own families and remembering when we all struggled with trying times emotionally, financially and socially.

In your family, who was there for you...friends, church, neighbors, community services? For many families in Massachusetts, the answer has been Family Continuity.

For over 25 years, Family Continuity (also known as FCP Inc) has helped families, you and your neighbors in over 200 communities, to meet the challenges that people face every day, raising children, caring for an elderly parent, finding housing, confronting mental health, domestic violence and substance abuse issues, living through a crisis. From its five hub sites in Beverly/Peabody, Hyannis, Lawrence, Plymouth and Whitinsville/Worcester, Family Continuity provides an effective array of mental health, home-based and family support services to families in need.

In our work, we are supported by a committed Board of Directors, strong partnerships with other community agencies, and funding through contracts with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and private insurance companies. Nonetheless, the need is far greater than the resources we have available. Every day, we are unable to support individuals and families whose important needs "fall between the cracks". Too often, it is only when a crisis is upon them that funding becomes available. Costs go up every year for insurance, transportation, office and other expenses. Combine this with the need to constantly recruit, train, and retain quality staff professionals able to do this challenging work and it becomes apparent why your support is so critical.

To continue to be as effective as our history has demonstrated, we need your support. Your tax deductible gift to Family Continuity will allow us to:

• provide summer camp support to a needy child,
• support a family caring for an elderly parent,
• help a parent learn to manage a child's challenging behavior with love and support,
• provide mental health services for uninsured and underinsured families,
• create the strongest staff training and in-service education program anywhere,
• advocate for the needs of our families and all families throughout Massachusetts,
• expand our services into communities where the need is the greatest, creating many more opportunities for us to meet our mission of "Supporting family success in every community".
