Position Summary
The Family Partner uses knowledge gained from life experience to empower, educate and support families facing a variety of challenges. Functioning as part of a close-knit team, the Family Partner supports families in a variety of circumstances, and facilitates parent support groups and evidence-based parent education classes. Position is based at the Nantucket Family Resource Center.
Position Requirements:
- Experience as parent/guardian of a youth with emotional, behavioral, or learning challenges and familiarity seeking child and family serving systems for that child
- May support families involved with a CRA
- Bachelor’s Degree in a human service field and (6) months’ experience working with target population or navigating any of the child and family serving systems and teaching family members who are involved with the child and family serving systems OR
- Associates Degree in human services field and (1) year experience working with target population or navigating any of the child and family serving systems and teaching family members who are involved with the child and family serving systems OR
- High School Diploma (GED) and (2) years’ experience working with target population or navigating any of the child and family serving systems and teaching family members who are involved with the child and family serving systems
- Experience working with diverse families and cultures
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel within the community
- Strong computer literacy
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends
